I am back with one more review, this time I am going to share my experience on My Wagon R LXI. I bought my car on 3rd July, 2008 from Aalianz Automobiles, Safdarjung Enclave , New Delhi. I got my car financed and sales guy from the dealer was really helpful. He took care of everything from the documentation till the delivery, I was just required to sign the papers. ON Road price came to Rs 3, 36, 000 after all the discounts.....
Now lets come to the performance, now I have completed 1 year and all the 3 services, my car has done around 19, 000 KMS including few major long trips, I will share that expierence in the later half.....
The front-end is now quite pleasing with the smart headlights and grill treatment. This hatch is amongst the better built Marutis. It does, however, feel typically Japanese tinny. Even drivers who are 6+ feet will fit comfortably, I am 510, bro is 511. Leg room at the front is fantastic, while at the back is bit limited if you extend the front seats. Maruti has done a good job of freshening up the interiors with a smart steering wheel, new upholstery and more but they really need to do more on the use of plastic and upholstery. A ton of cubby holes and storage places lend a practical touch to the interiors.
The 1.1 liter 64 BHP petrol engine has superb torque delivery and thus, offers fantastic driveability in the city. While the electric power steering makes driving effortless, an awful gearshift upsets the otherwise pleasant driving experience speacially the reverse gear and 5th gear, they seem to shouting and begging from not using them, Maruti seriously needs to do something to improve on their gear shifts.
Now coming to the mileage part, I am 15 KM/L in the City and upto 20 KM/L on the Highways believe and this is **with AC ON.
*I went to Chail, Kufri, Naldehra and Tattapani in the month of May along with my family and friends, there were 5 adults (including me) utilizing the car space along with luggage, this baby sweetly touched 115 km/hr on the highway, we used apprx 60 litres of petrol and we drove almost 1200 kms......Imagine 5 Adults, LOADS OF LUGGAGE, AC ON ....Car performed really well on the roads of Himachal but it needed a oiling and some screw tightning once we were back from the mountains....not because the car was bad but because of the Roads quality....People who regularly drive towards Hills knows the quality of roads......
So Friends only thing I can say is that you will not regret buying this car and I have also read in the newspaper that Maruti is coming up with the new model of Wagon R in the year 2011.......
