Friends, I was confused between buying Spark and Wagon-R but finally decided on Wagon-R for Maruti’s excellent customer service and reliability, even though I was getting Spark cheaper. I must say, I was disappointed. Experience with the dealer, Jalan Distributors, Kolkata was awful.
Newly delivered car had scractes and dealer tried to conceal and I too did not notice while taking delivery (Got revealed at the first wash). Though dealership listened coustsely and promised to have this fixed during first service, they were very causal in mentioning that this could have been doe during transit. They mentioned that they check the cars they deliver very thoroughly but were not sure how this got missed.
During first service, they gave a letter for their workshop to fix the scractes but at the service center (at this point, all the good image regarding Maruti’s care for its customer went out of window), the person mentioned that he cannot fix it as there is no paint available. On my insistance that I will not take the car along, until fixed, he mentioned he will try. He fixed the front bumber scratches but did not do on the roof of the car, despite repeatedly being mentioned.
Dealership was notified and they requested the car to be brought in. They used some polish but the scratches did not go away completely.Again, dealership delivered the car bluebook without even checking the correctness of the address, which is incorrect and I had to personally re-deliver it again.
Friends, beaware of this dealership in Kolkata...Jalan Destributors on VIP Road and think twice before going to them.
I am planning to lodge a formal complaint with Maruti regarding the same.
