Car for family in Small Segmant

Among the various hatchbacks from Maruti Suzuki clan, Wagon R has been a consistent player in the entry level B segment. One of the oldest contenders, the hatchback shows no signs of ageing despite launch of new entrants. Featuring tall boy design and high ground clearance, Wagon R commands a robust stance amid rivals. There has been a pleasant change in the exterior styling from being a boxy hatch to a smartly skinned vehicle. Interiors are spacious with generous storage space within the cabin.  Feature list is on par with the rivalling hatches, but what makes it a viable offering is the choice of petrol and CNG fuel options. Transmission choices include a manual and a new AMT tranny. Pricing mostly goes right when it comes to Maruti Suzuki India and Wagon R is no exception.

Look and Style: This is a smart looking car.

Pickup: Decent pickup, it handles well.

Mileage: About 12-15 KMPL in city depending on traffic and on the highway it gives 18 KMPL+

Best Features: Tallboy design makes it easier for my parents to get in and out of the car. Small on the outside making it easy to maneuver and park, yet quite spacious on the inside. Four Adults can sit very comfortably, the fifth person as well. Excellent boot space for a car of this size. Overall a very cleverly designed car.

Needs to improve: AC needs to be more powerful.

Overall Experience: Excellent. Bought my WagonR in 2008; will replace it with another WagonR! Its very comfortable for my parents to get in and out.
