I was looking for a small car under 5 lacs. Final shortlist had Wagon R and Santro. After taking test drives of both, main reason for rejecting Santro was that, my right hand was hitting the window every time I wanted to take left turn. Also, LPG option in Wagon R is more appealing.
After driving for 200 kms in 11 days, I am very happy with this car. Below are some of my observations:
Gear shift from 1st to 2nd can be hard
Also sometimes you have to try 2 times to engage reverse gear.
In LPG mode, in 2nd gear car really slows down on an incline.
Air-conditioner is awesome. Cools in just few seconds even when outside temp. is very high.
Suspension is good, could have been better
6 AC button light was not lit when AC was on. This has been fixed by dealer
My experience with wagon r has been excellent. I have been driving automatic cars for last 6 years. This is my first manual shift car and hence mileage could be lower than expected due to my driving. Hope it will get better after service and once I am expert at driving.
I would not recommend Navnit Motors, Thane to anyone as that dealership is receiving a lot of complaints. Fortpoint is a new dealership in Thane for Maruti and it is very good. All paperwork was done at my home. I was given test drive at the dealership and also near my home which is very far from dealership.
They have free pick up and drop off of the car.
Will update this review after first service.
