WagonR-Duo Just economical and good looking

This is my first car. And I have heard that maintaining a Car is painfull than buying one, so I wanted to get a Car which cost me less in maintenance and decided on Maruti. And ofcourse fuel economy was also my top priority.  These points drove me to look for Wagon-R Duo and I indeed endedup buying it.

The car was delivered on the promised date. I drive to office every day so I travel approx 95kms (to & fro). The mileage is good. It has been almost 3months since I bought the car and have driven approx 6000 kms. Already done with 2nd service.

Below are points to specific topics:

Space & Luxury: Front seats and comfort are very good. Most of the times I drive alone, only some times I take my family in the car, so rear seat is really not concern or I cannot comment on.

Mileage: on LPG I get 13-14 on an average. I once got 16kmpl (just once) . I refuel the LPG cylinder every 3 days, so I check the mileage every 3 days. I get around 280-325 kms drive for full tank LPG. (AC only 25% of the time, I keep the air blower on always). My drive is almost 25kms city limits and 70kms highways every day. I haven’t checked the mileage on Petrol. Remember every time you start the car in Auto mode, it consumes Petrol. So for my usage I see that almost one litre of petrol is consumed for a month.

LPG Filling: LPG filling is a challenge, some times your tank can occupy 21.5L and other time approx 22.5L. Once on a empty tank, the full tank capacity came to 23.5. The LPG fuel indicator is just to give an idea but not actual LPG availability. Twice I experienced that the even when you ’full’ your tank (refill fuel untill the blowback happens) the indicators don’t show full and even the mileage came very less on those occasions (approx 10.5kmpl).

Driving Comfort: Gear shift for 5th & reverse were hard until 2nd service. Reverse grear needs to get loosen yet. Some time you will have to put to reverse gear twice before it actually sits in its position. At 100km speed the steering wheel gets loosen, you have to be real carefull with it, you will get floating sensation with it; other wise body vibration and every other stuffs are normal.

Others: The malfunction indicator glows for no reason. Thrice I had this indicator glowing for no reason, once It got cleared by itself on the way to Service center, and other times the Service center guys fixed it up, they said it was a loose contact and blah blah (I think they really didn’t know why?). I had fitted with Power windows (4 doors) separately, It is great. It works with out ignition, and it is combined with AutoCop, so when you exit the car, just press the lock button, all the windows closes itself on-by-one. However once I had issue where in the Power windows started working on its own, like devil’s place, during the drive it goes down itself and up on its own later. I had it fixed and was an issue with the seating of the Power windows device controller. However the dealer was not able to diagnose this, he called up the Autocop guys and they fixed it.

Dealer: The dealer is good and reliable however when you give your car for service other that the dealer, he looks at you strangely when you go back to the dealer with any problems or any accessories. Other wise ever thing is good but little costly. I was charged 500 bucks for wheel rotation in my 2nd service :(
