I think I should do justice to the mouthshut members by writing my experiences about the Wagon R as I normally check mouthshut for other reviews.. I bought the Wagon R-Duo in sep 2006 and have run 17, 000 KM so far. I have taken it from Pratham motors, Bangalore and found the dealer good apart from the normal hassles..
I drove the vehicle in almost all types of roads..Some of the routes I covered in my new car so far are
1) Bangalore – Coimbatore – Thrissur – Ernakulam – Kottayam - Munnar- Kodaikanal – Salem – Bangalore
2) Bangalore- Mysore – Bangalore.
3) Bangalore- Mysore – Mudhumalai – Wayanad – Bangalore
4) Bangalore – Coimbatore- Palaghat – Malappuram – Nilambur - Gundelpet – Mysore – Bangalore
Some of the routes were 14-15 hours continuous single driving. I felt the seats are really comfort for long drive. Find the photo of my car and the road Munnar - Kodaikanal J. I didn’t feel any difficulty in hairpin curves, hills, valleys and in Highways..
I am a Maruti Lover because of their customer network and support and this is my 3rd M-car after M-800 and M-Esteem! I sold out my Esteem because of the traffic and parking issues in Bangalore. So I am enjoying the zip drive in Bangalore traffic. Daily I travel about 50km thru the heart of the city in peak hours and I love the driving in this small car. I was interested in Wagon-R from quite some time back mainly because of the head space as I am 6’2” J. But I didn’t opt for the old model wagon-R just because of its body shape, rear split seat etc, etc…When ever I go with my friends to the showroom, I used to tell the executive that I want the wagon-R with decent look, with out this rear split seat and if possible with gas. So I dint have to think again when I heard the launch of Wagon-R duo.
What I like*
· Body shape with center aligned number plate in front J
· Space inside
· Power of Power stearing,
· Breaks
· Very good control on roads.
· Steering wheel and the spacey dash board.
· Dual fuel facility
· Very comfort seating in front.
· Powerful A/C
Mileage
*In GAS
9-10 KM in city with 50% AC on..
11-12 KM on long drive
In Petrol
11-12 KM in city with 50% AC on..
13-14 KM on long drive
What I didn’t like*
· I could go up to max 110-120KM speed where I normally drive 150-160KM in other cars. Wagon-R starts wobbling in this speed and feels very light weight and not much control
· Rear seats are not so comfortable.
· Should have power windows, at least in front
Thats it for now...If you need any specific details, please revert back...
Thanks..
