The new wagon r duo is a crusial step towards the future for many reasons
1.LOOKS :- firstly it had to improve the looks to justify the cost, moreover maruti had recently realised that it can sell the radically looking cars very easily. secondly it also has to appear a bit modern and expensive to pave the way for the new Zen( originally MR wagon) that is to be launched before oct ’06 .
2.CONCEPT:- Maruti Suzuki has always given what Indians want, research never said we need ABS, airbags, ESP, cars over 100bhp, they are sheer waste of money, in india these provide more of snob value than safety. Maruti gave us the fabulous but basic 800 twenty years back it still sells in decent numbers, now paving the way for the future alternative to expensive petrol, it has given us this option. maybe ten years down the line supercars may follow this path. now this is what being futuristic means.
