Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

I bought my New WagonR VXi Varient in Feb 2007.

Since its my first car, I had done lot of thinking before finalise this one.

Initially I dont have any clear idea how to buy a car. Mouthshut helped a lot. I suggest to read mouthshut before buying a car.

I had some parameters to filter while choosing my car.

So my initial question was whther am going to buy a petrol or diesel. My usage of car will be only in week ends and some times long trips in once in a month. Since my daily usage won’t cross 40KM/day, I decided to go for Petrol car.

Diesel car though have less Running costs, it has high intial cose, high Maintenance cost and Less comfort and poor resale value. I sticked to Petrol Cars.

I was looking for a 5 seater car in 4-5 lakhs range. So I had plenty of choices Alto, Indica, Palio, Getz, Swift, WagonR.

I test drived Hyundei Getz. Its the small, spacious car. Excellent comfort. But It gives only 10-11KM/lt. And the spares cost are pretty high in Hyundai cars. So I heard from my friends that Hyundai cars are giving problem after 3-4 years down the line.

So I deicided to buy Maruti Car. I dropped Alto, since it was not fit for my height and less space. Some how I didn’t like Swift’s rear design. But it has good interiors and the front seats are the Best.

I tried New Maruti Zen. The Plastics in interiors are pooor. I don’t like the new design.

Finally I test drived WagonR. It has plenty of space in front and rear seats. Its a Maruti Product. So Maintenance cost and running cost are comparatively less. It gaves 15-16lts with A/c and 18-20 without A/c.

But the style is not very impressive. But it compromises in my all other parameters.

The I got stuck up with one to buy LPG varient for pure Petrol.

The high end model in WAGONR LPG is LXI. the price of LPG LXI is almost same as VXI petrol. Its upto you to decide with one matters to you. VXI is slightly wider in dimention and comes with broader tyre and front power windows and reclining rear seat. LPG varient lags in these aspects.

I decided to buy Vxi for these reasons.

1. Add-ons comes with VXI

2.Maintenance cost of LPG is bit high

1. Less Resale value.
