I bought WagonR Primea 15 days back from Mandovi motors Bangalore. I have been driving it for past few days. It is really excellent vehicle. I will mention the +ves and -ves little later. First I will explain what are the parameters which influenced me to go for WagonR.
Parameter 1: I wanted a small car.
So I short listed maruti 800, alto, Zen, WagonR, Santro Xing, Palio, Swift, Getz.
Parameter 2: My budget was around 4 lakhs.
Hence I eliminated Swift and Getz.
Parameter 3: Space and Power is important.
Maruti 800 and alto are eliminated due to less space and performance.
Parameter 4: My vehicle should be future vehicle.
Zen is old model, lot of zen owners are now exchanging it for WagonR or santro. hence I eiliminated Zen. I eliminated Palio also because its Italian partner is not very much committed to Indian market.
Now I was left with Santro Xing and WagonR. Believe me it was very difficult for me to decide. I thorougly searched all the material in the web including mouthshut.com to compare these two models. Most of the reviews says both the vehicles are good in allmost all aspects. After this ’Research’, Believe me I had allmost decided to buy santro Xing mainly because it is a ’5 seater’.
After this I spoke to some of my friends with automobile engineering background. Many of them explained various technical/design details of both Xing and WagonR.
one thing which really impressed me was WagonR’s Electronic power steering. As per many experts, electronic power steering is much better than hydrolic powersteering (Santro xing has hydrolic powersteering).
Finally I decided to go for WagonR LXi. I went to mandovi. Sales man explained me that there is a limited edition called wagonR ’Primea’ which comes with many additional features like alloy wheel, central locking system upgradable to complete security system, fog lamps, biege colour interiors etc.. I decided to go for it.
Now to shortlist the +ves and -ve.
+ve things about wagonR:
Its power steering. I have experienced it for last few days. It is amazing.
Space.
Body Shape! Many people have mentioned that wagonR shape is not good. But I liked the shape.
Ofcourse Maruti’s service network.
-ve things:
- Its back split seat. I think Maruti should make it as single seat.
