Guys! I had been breaking my head for past few months for buying a car!.My Budget was 4 Lakhs. I saw Wagon R first, rejected it.
Then I saw i10, and I was flattered for its interiors. I thought I would buy it. But it was falling way out of my budget. The on Road Price for Magna Metallic came up to 4.5 Lakhs.
I then saw Santro GLS. I had heard a lot good about the car. But some how after I sat in the vehicle, I did not like its interiors(Time for Hyundai to think of face lifting it) The Trip Meter is still manual, the a/c switch is still old fashioned. The plastic quality takes a huge hit(due to cost cutting initiatives I think).
Then I heard about Indica. That happened to be good fit for my budget. I was getting a good discount from the dealer and I was getting a Indica Xeta GLX model for 3.92 after discounts.
But Indica takes a huge hit because of people’s perception about the car. People Still think it as a CAB. Time for the tata’s to design a special passenger car:) Indica goes out!
Chevrolet came up with a new offer. They were offering Spark LT for 4.15 Lakhs plus 3 yrs Free servicing. The offer was incredible. I had nearly made up my mind to go for it. But then I heard from people and also few reviews in Mouthshut that its after sales services is poor compared to a Maruti or Hyundai. Also the resale value of the car would not be good. I had to some how drag Spark out of the list.:(
Then I heard about Alto. The sweet and small car, perfect for city drive and awsome fuel economy. I took a test drive. The car was good, but the leg room was a big problem. Not a good car for slightly taller people. Although still a perfect car for a family of 3, when it comes to the cost factor.
Back in the race came Wagon R. Now it was choice between Alto Lxi and Wagon R Vxi. I was clear about one thing in my mind. I wanted to go only for a Top version of any car. Wagon R came with front two power windows, a/c, power steering, fog lamps, body coloured bumpers. Alto missed everything except a/c and power steering. Then it was driving comfort, long drive v/s city drive, more v/s less accessories. All in all Wagon R was answer to all the problems. To add to it Maruti announce a discount of 30000 for Wagon R.
So Wagon R scored high in all Aspects.
