Tin Can on Wheels

This new versatile vehicle after the Maruti Omni is a comfort and delight to drive and be driven in. Its snub nosed front and boxy look hides a comfortable small car with big features.

It may look like a tin can on wheels but it sure is a comfortable and a very fuel efficient tin can that just sips the petrol and zips along on 4 wheels without a peep.

Its 1.1 litre, 16 valve engine delivers 64 horsepower that is adequate for city driving and yet powerful enough for that odd holiday trip once in a while. I would say it’s the best family car and the right upgrade if you own a Maruti 800 at present and can’t splurge on the mid level sedans. It’s the best car for the wife, because it’s so easy to park and maneuver in city conditions.

It boasts of a 16 bit onboard computer but I do not know what it does - maybe it makes it more fuel efficient I think.

The AC is powerful enough and very silent and packs in a heater too - really quiet. It also comes with electronic steering that makes driving a pleasure without any strain or tiredness after a long drive back home.

It has some pretty cool features like a tiny alarm if you leave your headlamps on or leave the key in the ignition. Vertically aligned tail lamps adds style to its rear.

It also has a trip meter on the instrument panel to measure your distance traveled.

The seats are luxurious and tilt and recline for comfort and rest when you take a break from your long drive. The rear seats fold in completely to allow you to carry your kid’s cycles or that 29 ’’ TV you just bought.

Small, compact yet spacious family car. A safe tin can on wheels from the reliable Maruti Suzuki breed of cars. You may not find a ’dhaba’ but you’ll definitely hit a Maruti Service Centre on remote off beat inter city roads. That’s a guarantee.
