I own a Wagon R Lxi for the last 2+ years.. The car has been doing pretty fine.. No hassles except the front wishbush sound on turning (which was fixed after 3rd visit to the dealer)..There were some other minor defects as well but all of them were covered under the warranty.. I had to pay not even a penny from my pocket :-) The car returns at 14kmpl in town drive.. which is pretty good...given I drive the car very rashly.. Most of the time I ’m racing with other vehicles... I am fond of racing... I have done over a dozen racing on NH-91 in 10 months :-)
Ride is satisfactory.. However the rear seats cannot accomodate more than two persons.. The gear shift is poor..specially sometimes reverse gives trouble...but now I am used to of it as it is a common problem to all the Wagon R...
Maximum speed achived by my car was 165Kmph (ofcourse A/C off) when I was racing with a Toyota Corolla.. The guy tried to overtook me for 25+ kms but I just didn’t let him go... That was the day...when I had MAX ADRENALINE FLOW in my brain/body... The car runs very smoothly till 110Kmph but as the speed is increased the cars starts getting unstable... Above 120Kmph one will feel the vehicle going out of control....and flying like a mad bird in the wind....
I’m 5’11" and I see great problem reading the instrument cluster as the top 1/2 of the panel visibility is obstructed by the sterring wheel.. Maruti gotta fix this...This can be prone to accident...
Pickup drops considerably after turning the Air-Condtioning on...
I had spent over 35K+ (in 2004) on accessories.. I got the best MUSIC System (during 2004), Woofer, Alloy Wheels (Aura), Remote Locking etc...
But combining all the cons and pros I would RECOMMEND this Vehicle... It is LIKE a GOLD COIN... Given the price; the performance, durability, reliability is good.... Parts are also resonably cheap (excluding the ELECTRICAL PARTS which are VERY Expensive).....
