This is my first review at mouthshut. I relocated from US to Bangalore some time back and was on the lookout for an automatic vehicle. Felt that an automatic would be an easier option to drive in this traffic for a person like me who has never driven in Indian traffic.
First went to Hyundai to see if I can get a Santro Automatic (Around Feb 2007). Hyundai told me that they had stopped production of Santro AT(I believe they have revived it now). The only choice for me Wagon R AT (I had the price range of 5 lakhs). Got the vehicle delivered to me in 25 days through Pratham motors. I should say that Iam really satisfied with the vehicle in the past one week Iam using it. The power steering is really good and manevourability within the city traffic is really easy.
The car gives a good view from the drivers seat which makes it easy to drive. The rear view mirrors could be better than what come with the default model. I havent calculated the mileage yet but ok to compromise on that. I would recommend this version for beginners provided they can take the hit on Mileage and mainly use it for city traffic. Since it is a 3 speed Auto, going above 90km/hr is really not advised.
