Wagon R - The reliable TallBoy design!

My wife drives a Wagon-R and the foremost thing she likes is the high seating postion. No athletic ability is required to Get in and out of the car. It is is so damn easy. Wagon R was never a beauty to look at but it is neither a Beast!

The interior packaging is just better but remember that the Wagon R does not come any where close to matching the build quality of the the other cars like Palio, Tata Xeta, Santro or the Chevy Spark. It is a tall boy so you have huge headroom and you sit high but the cabin is dark and cheap plastics on the dash and basic door pads are terrible to look at. It drives well in the city and performance is ok. The gearbox is rubbery and imprecise.

It has a light steering but it lacks any precision, fails to self centre, and it is a nightmare on the the highway as it is effected by the cross winds. But it is fuel efficient. 14 kmpl in the city and 18 kmpl on the highway. No bat at all! The running costs and maintainence costs are low. Most importantly it is backed by Maruti Suzuki Service. So it is highly recommended!
