I just bought my new wagonr(Lxi) in may 07. its been 6 months and has clocked over 3000kms. being in the army, there are not enough opportunities for me to drive the cor. nevertheless, the little what I have driven, the car has not disappointed me.
Looks/Color: the looks are somewhat un-conventional, but the colors in which the car comes is amazing. I own a passion-red model, and I an certain, that whenever, I take my car for a drive, some heads are sure to turn. so a 8/10 on looks/color.
Interiors: not that encouraging, though it satisfies the basic necessities. A vanity mirror on the co-driver seat would have been a useful item also, the day/night adjustment mirror is not a fitment on the Lxi. so a 7/10 on interiors.
Seating: The seating in the front and the rear is very spacious and with lots of leg room. but with three people on the rear seat, it can get a bit uncomfortable, esp for the person on the middle. A 7/10 here.
AC/Heater: The AC has always been on the better side. even in the peak of summers in jammu at about 45 deg, I never had to turn the control of the AC above the 2nd posn. the heater is also equally efffective. so a 8/10 here.
Chassis: It is a known fact that maruti cars are very light and fragile. so the mere thought of being in a accident can send jitters. the chassis cud have been a bit more strong. so a 6/10 on chassis.
Driving Experience: The experience of driving this car has been amazing. fast pick up, small turn radius, good lights, has always been made this a good car to drive.
however there are some points which merit attention:
1) whenever you buy a new car with metallic colors, it should be on the dealers part to do the mandatory teflon coating. I had to spend 2000/ on the coating on the 1st day itself.
2) there should be a small attachment on the boot to fix the rear speakers. in my cars, I had to fit a small wooden board to fit the speakers.
3) the quality of the plastic used to house the gear stick, and the can-holder is too fragile. it can be of better quality.
