Truly a newbie's car

After all the digging and mining information from various sources and all possible channels, I finally zeroed down on a WagonR VXi(minus ABS & Airbags)

I booked one on July 2, 2007 and got the delivery in 1 week time flat. I was really surprised/impressed/delighted with the Dealer to exhibit such On-Time Performance.

I’ve driven only a couple of 100s(To be precise 238 km) now. This review is based on that little experience I’ve.

*Things I liked

Maneuverability**:- Believe me it zips on even shortest roads and sharpest turns

*Space and Customization**:Nice features to adjust the fron seats and completely foldable rear seat.

*A/C**: What an amazing A/C they have fitted in, you switch it on and you feel it(Of course not any better than Balenos and Citys in the world, but still comes close:-):-)

*Clear View of the ROAD in Front**: The Clear and big view of the road is a definite plus.

Last but not the least

*Dealer Service: **With all the bad experience from the reviews that I read, I had a very little expectation from the dealer and the Sales Person. But the kind of service that I got, I simply loved it. I’ll write a seperate review on the dealer in the relevent section to describe it.

I’ll write in detail once I take a long ride about the other goods if I find any.

*Things I did not like

The beam on the driver’s side**: Hinders the visibility a little bit when turing to right.

*Maruti must improve on Quality Control**: I found the rear defogger and  keyless entry stopped working on Day 1 itself. Though the dealer was very prompt to get it rectified FOC.

*P.S.** There was a review written by someone explaining how WagonR is a perfect car for someone who has never driven a four wheeler. Dude. I must agree with you.

After 2 years and 4 months.

I’m still in love with the car, as much as I was, 2 years ago. I’ve got adjusted to the CONS but the RPOS still continue to impress me.

I get my car serviced regularly and importantly at the same place. Recently I noticed something. If I drive the car in the speed range of 60-80, I’m getting an unbelievable average of close to 20-21 kmpl.

I calculate it using the Full to Full method. I usually fill up Shell super petrol, with average of 25 lit. filling every time. To my surprise, I always find the car clocked 500-520 km per filling.:-). Is this the right method?

Does anybody have a similar experience? Please share.

I’m planning to buy a big car soon. I don’t think, I’m not going to sell this one though.:-)
