Thanks to Mouthshut for supporting me to take a wise decision for my First Car last September (07).. The options were so many but equally difficult to choose. I feel this is my responsibility to write back and contribute to the readers of mouthshut.com. Ok coming to the review
Car bought : Maruti Wagon R Vxi
Color Black ( I Love black color)
Dealer Competent Motors
I had gone in for buying Lxi but when I saw the price difference of mere 25L between Lxi and Vxi .. calculated the Vxi was a better dela anytime.
Features :
Amazing side mirrors (imp for NCR - lane driving), Fog lamps, RPM meter, power window (front) and electonic controlled side mirrors, power steerting, superior upholstory, rear mirror fog remover, ciggratte lighter, silver color coded dashboard looks really elegant
So these things I found was a good but for 25K and please do not sit calculating cost if installed from outside because nobody can beat the company fitting.
Cost : 3.75 on road
bagged in big discounts from dealer 35K + including corporate discount (for which I had to simply get a letter from my company)
Add on from outside: Pioneer sound stereo 7000
Car mats - carpet style and plastic mats over them
Top up : CNG Kit from the dealer - 42 K Tartarani make
Service to be provided by Delaer and the 2 years extended warrenty on Car to be given by Dealer (on installation of CNG kit, the warranty from Maruti stands void :() but dealer makes for it :)
Best part : very neatly installed in the car ( most imp reason to get worried otherwise)
Performance :
Superb is the word. It moves as if it is sailing in smooth river. No noise and AC is amazingly good (have to use it more as black color absorbs more heat). But not a major impact on the fuel performance.
I normally drive for 40 Kms a day within Gurgaon but never felt tired because of driving .. Driving is always a pleasure in Maruti ..after People come home in Maruti :)
On an average it gives 18 Km per 1 kg of CNG.
I am wondering why Maruti is not giving CNG fitted duo cars
It actually gives the Tom Boy style pleasure while driving.
Dealer Service : Excellent is the word and I am Delighted
I was called in for a customer meet at the delaership (which is a 3 storey fundoo buidling in Gurgaon in Infocity opp Hero Honda) where they told critical Do’s and Don’t of driving Maruti
A credit of good engine and car performance goes to that workshop.
They provide express service and best is that they provide pick and drop service
They also maintain the history of the car and ensure to close all reported issues with them and open for feedback
They have gone great way towards customer delight

anybody who is wanting to go for a 1st car with a budget of 3.5~3.8 should go in for Maruti Wagon R only .. It looks sexy !
A test drive is critical before you zero down on your choice. Also for busy roads like that of NCR, cars like Wagon R are really successful
