Again, my experience. My second one, last weekend to Hosur. Here are some interesting facts...
Chennai to Hosur
Vehicle - WagonR Vxi
Distance covered - 306 Kms
# of passengers - 3
Luggages - Yes, should weigh about 10-15Kgs
Top Speed - 130 Kmph on speedo
RPM - should be between 3000 to 3500 at 120
Drive from Chennai until Sriperambadur was ok with little bit of traffic here & there. After Sriperambadur, I was able to steady her between 110 - 120 Kmph. There were slight jolts, may be due to my hands too, not sure, I couldnt keep her steady on a single lane for longer time. She kept moving left & right within the lane. Hopefully my problem??? However, I think she lack some power in pulling 3 people & few luggage as I couldnt feel the torque during slight uphill drives. She wasnt able to pull up all of us unless the gas pedal floors at 5th. Even during 120s I had to pedal to floor & she would go max till 130. Another interesting observation was, she was able to clock 130 only once during the journey. After which I wasnt able to make her cross 125. Not sure if this is a speedo read problem or got something to do with the wind. Another best part was we had a flat tyre at right rear while she was clocking 110s. At first we couldnt understand the jolts because the road was slight uphill & wasnt looking like a black tarmac & was slightly white with dots. So we initially thought it could be the road. However after a Km or so, we decided to check for the flatness & yes, it was!!!
Way back home...the real test
Distance covered - 302 Kms
# of passengers - 1...Me
Luggages - Yes, should weigh about 500 gms
Top Speed - 160 Kmph on speedo!!!
RPM - should be above 4000 or 4500 at 160
I couldnt clock her steady after 140+. So eventually I slowed her down & had constance drive between 110 & 120. Moreover she was more than thirsty after 140, I could see the fuel needle coming down faster. This time she was or may be I was able to control her within the lane, again, wobbling between left & right within the lane. Covered about 302 Kms in 3.5 hours end to end from one house to another house (includes parking)!!! She was quite steady at 110, I drove most of the time at 110 & 120. She wasnt that wobbling but steering was quite easy & I couldnt feel the "out of control" at any point in time, except when she clocked above 140. Engine noise was quite less even with 120, but roaring was heared only after 140 or so. The drive back was like glide at 110s.
PS - All tests without the airconditioner turned on. Im sure otherwise, she wouldnt be able to clock these speeds.
