I got the 2001 Zen mpfi from True Value Navnit motors Thane in 2007. Primary motivation was carrying both parents along and not worrying about whether they are seated properly on my 2 wheeler.
Pros :-
Reliable - It has not let me down so far in midst of a highway (most runs were 130 kms at one go)
Decent fuel economy - with 10-12 in city and 15-17 on highway with AC
Good visibility of surrounding on all sides (something that cannot be said for many of todays small hatchbacks, leave aside sedans.)
Demands very little space for passage and parking (getting important with increase in number of vehicles on road)
It has stood some real life tests for stability (120 kph to standstill in about 25 m distance on a downward slope on highway without whirling, or shaking ; turned 90 degrees at speed of 50-60 kph coz I realized last moment that THIS is the turn I had to take, again no toppling, dragging, skidding)
Of course I can take some credit for above as it has been maintained like a baby. I had got all 5 tyres new at the time of purchase and its first highway run (in 2007) it gave me an average of 20.6 kpl without AC (driving speed 80 kph most of time) . Of course now that Im short of patience and most of time my odometer reads 90-100 kph its average is 15-16 kpl with AC on 80% of time.
Cons :- Poor ground clearance. You need to take care of speed beakers especially when 5 people are inside the car. AC gives up even at 38 deg C in Mumbai and Thane.
I have driven this car till 120 km/hr speed, but vibration level is significant after 100 kph. 80km/hr seems to be ideal for fuel economy , comfort as well as control.
