We are a young family of three, Me along with my wife Papiya and our six year old daughter Yukti. This is our first car. As I am new to driving and on a budget, the pre-owned car segment was our choice to search for a suitable car to serve the basic needs. Residing at Kalyan, located in the central suburbs of Mumbai city we scouted the used car dealers market. Among the options available we initially searched the Maruti Alto and Hyundai Santro. While Alto is undoubtedly recognized as the best selling small car, the crampy interiors went against it for the family. With regard to the Santro, though it had roomy interiors the old Santro’s box type design made it look very dated. During a visit to Pavan Motors, a user car showroom at kalyan; Papiya’s eyes caught the attention of a bright red Maruti Zen VXi variant. Further investigations indicated that this was a November 2004 model and the primary owner was a Parsi lady(the parsis are known for their natural ability to keep their belongings in good condition for long periods). Being a certified pre-owned car available with proper documentation, the deal was done for the Zen VXi, the top end variant of this model.
Zen VXi variant features*
There are many features assigned only to this top end variant that includes Rear windscreen wiper and washer, front and rear fog lamps, Central locking, Prismatic day-night internal rear view mirror, body side mouldings, steering wheel with leather cover and full wheel cover.
Summary*
The set of features, styling, affordability and reputation of being one of the best sellers in its category seems to have gone well for the Zen. A small family like ours will cherish our first buy and enjoy the comfort of safe yet exciting drives on our very own Maruti Zen.
