I have been hearing about this movie since 2011 and finally the movie is here for release. Dhanush, my favourite actor, is playing the characxter of Maryan who is kidnapped by foreigners along with other innocent indian workers for forced labour in African country like Sudan. He loves Panimalar(Parvathi Menon).
Maryan after being captured runs somehow from the ggrip of tyrannists and travels all alone to India. The movie is all about his journey from being captured to how he escapes and how he survives the journey back home. It is based on real incidents that happened in 2008. The director Bharat Bala was inspired from the French-Liberian Movie Johnny Mad Dog and he though of making Maryan. He took 6 months to decide the title of movie which means never dying man in tamil. A.R Rehman’s music is awesome. The song Nenje Ezhu is soulful and has got real meaningful https://lyrics. The directionis great.
Unlike other films in which the actress just gets the role of playing the hero’s love toy, , Parvathi’s role in Maryan is much more powerful and grounded.
Uma Riyaz Khan, Rama, Salim Kumar and others have done a superb job. All actors are fantastic.
Go Watch Marian. It is not a masala movie but a must watch for real cinema lovers.
