Housed in a Heritage building on M.G. Road, Marz O Rin (or just Marz, as I like to call it), is one of the oldest fast-food eating joints in Pune. In spite of its
popularity and mass appeal, Marz has maintained its old-world charm, classic,
basic menu, old-style (read cheap) food pricing, décor and ambience.
Suitable for people of all ages, Marz is one of every
Punekars favourite hangouts. Sitting comfortably in the first floor balcony,
you get a birds-eye view of M.G.Road, while you sip your cold coffee (or juice,
milk-shake, or whatever), and munch down on of their many varieties of
sandwiches, rolls, macaroons, and pastry. Although everything on the menu tastes great, I
personally favor their **chicken rolls, normal veg. sandwich, chutney sandwich, brownies
(egg less), and coconut macaroons**.
Marz-o-rin means something in either Portuguese or Parsi. I
am as yet unable to find an exact translation. As far as I remember, I think it
means border/boundary of safety(or comfort). So, when you enter Marzorin, u’ve
entered an area of comfort and safety. If there are any corrections, please
post that here.
I don’t know if I’m allowed to put this here, but here goes.
