Living in Massachusetts I have been to all parts of it but in this review I will just write about my area.
I live in the Berkshire Mountains and there is much to see and do here. It is especially nice in the fall with all the red, oranges and golds of the foliage season.
Not far from here is a small village and there you will find the home of the famous Norman Rockwell which has tours in the nice weather. His museum is also located here.
There are some quaint little shops where you can buy many things including reproductions of his work.
The restaurant where the film Alices Restaurant was made years ago is in this village also.
It is very close to Tanglewood where many concerts have taken place and you can sit on the lawn and watch them. Many famous people come here and they have a variety of musical talents.
We also have the famous Canyon Ranch where all the rich and famous people go to get healthy so it is mainly a health resort.
There is a buffalo farm where they are raised and you can go and see these magnificent creatures.
We also have the home of the late Herman Melville which is also open to the public for tour.
There is the Shaker museum which is an old religious order and you can see everything being done as they did in the olden days. You can watch wool being spun, cloth being made, baking done in old brick ovens that work by heated stones underneath and many other activities. There is much to see and do here.
This is just a brief glimpse of where I live. In the future I will write about other parts of the state. It is a large state and there is much history and things to see.
If you plan to visit New England be sure and stop by Massachusetts. You wont be disappointed.
