I went to see Match Point last week with my wife and we both escaped into this seductive thriller. Although I have never been a fan of Woody Allen, I enjoyed the with which the story is presented to us, and the twist which takes it from the innocent to the gut wrenching.
The story is simple enough, and the choice is easily understood to be very difficult. Do you follow passion and perhaps love, or the life and the confort for which you have become accustomed. What choices would you make if you were faced with the predicament?
I thought that London played beautifully in this movie, and that Allen delivered by using clear lines to set us in their world. I was often taught (but seldom listened) that you dont need to tell the reader or viewer any more then necessary, and they will think for themselves. This movie was seductive, intense, difficult to watch, and surprising, all at once. I highly recommend it.
