Matheran is a hill station which is just about 100 km from Mumbai. The beautiful scenery touches everyone’s heart. There are many points in Matheran, which are worth seeing.
The one who goes there does not like to come back.
I had once been to Matheran. We left the house at around
7:00 A.M. We reached the railway station, and there began our journey. We reached Neral by 9:00 A.M. You might be
knowing that there is a mini train from Neral which takes you to Matheran. We went by the same mini train. The train is quite small, having just 6 compartments. It took us 2 hrs to reach Matheran. We were tired of the long journey. But when we reached Matheran we forgot our tiredness. I was stunned seeing the beautiful trees that surrounded me. Then, I came to know that our Hotel was still 5 km away. But, seeing the scenery I didn’t refuse to walk 5 km.
Then, finally we reached our Hotel. The next day we went for sight seeing. Our guide told us that there are about 10 points which are worth seeing. We visited all these points on the horse, since vehicles are not allowed in Matheran. There is a point in Matheran known as ’one tree point’. The view from this point was breathtaking. In Matheran our three days just flew like a bird.
I did not want to return, but I had to. It was an experience that I will cherish for a life time. So my friends if you have not yet visited Matheran, please do so.
