Hello everyone I am today going to write a review on this wonderful hillstation matheran.
Matheran is extremely good weekend getaway for anyone who live in mumbai or pune.
It is located in the Raigad district and it is a very small but beautiful hillstation.
It is around 90-100 km from mumbai and 120-130 km from pune.
It can be easily accessed by trains like the deccan express or the sahyadri express from mumbai. the closest railway station to matheran is 21 km away at NERUL and takes 30 min to reach by car from there.There is also a toy train which can be taken as a joy ride but it is extremely slow but a very very beautiful experience.it takes about 2 hours to reach.
There are a few lakes, parks and temples in this place but the foremost attraction of this place is the many mountain points like alexander point, rambagh point, porcupine point, echo point, LOUISA point and many more other points. There are around 30 points in this.
The temperature is chill and the sight seeing is the best during the months, november to may and a maximum of 2 days is the perfect number of days to complete the sight seeings in this place.
There are many accommodations available in this place like bungalows, hotels, resorts, guests houses and even villa’s and a lot of tourist visit this location. Hence you can choose any place according to your needs and wants.
The people who live there are very peaceful and the roads are also lit up well and hence I feel it is a very safe place to visit for anyone .
Hence I suggest anyone who live in mumbai or close by to visit this peaceful place for a weekend getaway.
