I went to Matheran 2 years ago ie in March 2005 to celebrate birthday of my wife. I found Matheran very different from other picnic spots. Matheran is 100% pollution free with a very plesant atmosphere. To see all the points in Matheran we have to travel by horse. All the points of Matheran are good and the lovely point of Matheran is the Sunrise point. But we have to go early in the morning at 7:00am to see the Sun rising. At the time of Sun rising the atmosphere becomes so lovely that everyone enjoys the scene.
Sunset point, Lovers point, Echo point, are some of the points in Matheran. These points are also nice. The hotels in Matheran are also good. Little costly but good. I spended 2 days in Matheran. I liked Matheran very much. One should go to Matheran to enjoy the pollution free and good atmosphere.
