Matheran is well known hill station. It’s about 100 km from Mumbai.
Getting there is very easy. You have so many alternatives, by car or catching a train from Dadar station and getting off at Neral. From Neral you have the choice of either catching the toy train, catching the cab, a hand pulled rickshaw or simply by hiking it up or getting it on a horse.
There are 38 points to visit in Matheran each one gives you a superb view of the surrounding areas and makes you crazy wondering at nature’s beauty. You will not come back without falling in love with the place and wanting to visit it again and again.
Cars are allowed upto Dasturi Naka to keep up the beauty, and absolutely pollution free Matheran. Echo point and Sunset point are the most beautiful and popular points.
The Almond, Cashew Nut Fudges and fresh Honey are delicious and famous. You can shop for Handicrafts like Hats, Handbags and much more.
The best part I like in Matheran, the Horse riding in foggy and cool atmosphere. You can really ride it as FAST as you want. The experience is so different riding in such a beautiful place surrounded by beautiful trees. Well we were not able to experience the full beauty of Matheran because we reached there late and were there only for few hours, so I won’t be able to tell you all about the hotels and food.
