Matheran truely is Maharashtra’s one of the most beautiful hill station. to go to matheran from mimbai , one has to first reach nerul by train which goes to karjat from vt..Taxies leave you at Dasturi Naka, where one has to pay tax of Rs25 for adults then you can proceed towards the market. which a 15 - 20 mins walk....one can ither go walking or take a horse ride. any kind of motor vehicles inside Matheran are not allowed... in order to prevent the pollution...there is a ban on use of plastic bags tooo
there are hotels of all budgets ....5star hotels like usha ascot....brightland....3 and 2 star hotels like woodlands kumar plaza, richi rich etc
for sightseen there are many points...from the market one can go to Charlott Lake first then, echo point, then to honey moon point.... then Louisa Point, Sunset point...then tooo monkey point and last to panaroma point..... panorama point is a bit far from the market ...these are a few point which are important and a must to see....louisa point and echo point are the best of alll I hav just no words to describe how awesome they are.....its just toooo goooood
best time to visit is nov to June ...... I had been to matheran this weekend and the climate was reallly goood it was raining heavly and there was fog all over.....i would recommend the nature lovers to visit matheran in the month of aug
one can shop for chikki honey chappals.....and jute bags...most of the shop are clossed in the month of july an aug because of the rains....
just beware of the monkeys which are all over the place...make sure u dont carry an food stufff....and dont feed the monkeys at all..
matheran is a very quiet place.....and best place for relaxing ......
so if u wanna talk a break for a day or too dont think just pack of stuff and leave right away !!!!!!!!!!!ENJOY
