Two weeks back I applied for matrix calling card from Chennai, as I had to travel to France for 2 weeks. After inquiring several agents who claimed they were directly from matrix international and not agents, I understood that they had almost similar rated plans. But few agents claimed they could provide the same plan at lower even zero rentals.
I was confused but decided to go for someone providing plan at actual rate expecting others may charge me later. They use an ingenious way of bill collection - block 5k in advance which would be adjusted once actual bill is generated. The plan mentioned 10 days validity and 15 free mins to India everyday. I insisted that I would go with this one i.e. for only 10 days as I did not want to pay anything additional. But he told me that it could be extended without additional charges.
When I received my bill for first week of usage, I noticed that instead of 1000 rental I was charged 2200+ rental. When I tried calling/mailing this agent there was no reply and phone was switched off. On checking the same through customer care after reaching India, they informed that additional charge was towards the extended validity. I couldn’t get any refund even after explaining the fault on their representative’s side. Ppl kindly avoid going for matrix or beware of possible hidden charges.
