Welcome to the church of THE MATRIX - a review on the MATRIX TRILOGY

Wondering what the church of the matrix is? It was simply copied from one of the famous film magazines (which one- I don’t remember). The magazine commented that the fanfare for the matrix was so much that it could be called the church of the matrix.
Beautiful phrase, but not far from the truth.
THE MATRIX is one of the biggest hits in Hollywood history. The Matrix trilogy was a success story matched by no other. It is helped on its way by some genuine action, martial arts, original theme, and some fine acting.
And now for the news in detail...
Many people have told me that the matrix trilogy is bet bit hard to digest. Many people say they didn?t understand what was going on, yet they enjoyed the film. So, I feel I should take up the plot of the film first.
The matrix trilogy centers on a person, Neo, played by Keanu Reeves. He is contacted by a person called Morpheus through a fine young lady, Trinity. Through the adventures, Neo comes to learn that humans have been the slaves of robots and the world we live in is a computer-generated simulation created only for the purpose of keeping our mind busy.
The original time frame of the story is close to the year 2020. humans have created artificial intelligence. The age of the robots began, and they started a war with us. Humans a pushed to the limit. So they decided to scorch the skies, so that the robots would not be able to utilize the sun’s energy. The humans move to the interior of the earth where there is still warmth, and set up a city called Zion.
The machines device a way of generated electricity from the bioelectricity produced in the human body. So they started making fields were humans are ?grown? in encased compartments. But they realize that the human mind cannot be idle for that long, and the body is inseparable from the mind. So they designed the matrix, to stimulate a world for all the humans they were using as ?batteries?. Humans can enter the matrix via virtual reality.
When the first matrix was designed, there was a man born in it. He could change the matrix. He freed the first of the exiles. After his death, the future teller, the oracle prophesied his return and that Morpheus would be the one to find him. His name, Neo.
Three programs called the agents protect the matrix. The capture Morpheus, and neo goes to protect him, in the process realizing the powers within him, as he becomes ’’the one’’. He kills one of the agents called Smith.
The matrix is reloaded with modifications. Smith is freed from the system. He becomes a program with only one purpose, to kill Neo. Furthermore, he acquires the ability to make the other programs copies of himself, acquiring their power in the process.
The machines launch their final attack on Zion. They dig towards the interior of the earth. The oracle calls for neo. Neo is told about the key maker, who could show him the path to the Matrix system main frame. The key maker is held by another very powerful program. The threesome of trinity, Morpheus and neo, manage to get him out.
Neo enters the mainframe. The architect of the mainframe, who tells him that he is the seventh of his kind, greets him. His path ends in the mainframe, and trinity would die and Zion would not be destroyed. ’’The one’’ is the part of the matrix designed to do just that.
But Neo is overcome by his love for trinity and he chooses the hard way out. He manages to save trinity from the jaws of death. By now he realizes that his powers extend from the matrix to the real world. The controls a machine called the sentinel, with his mind destroying it and almost killing him. But he doesn?t die, his mind is transferred in the matrix to a place called the train station, where deleted programs go. The trainman controls it.
Morpheus and trinity gets neo out of it. Neo finds out that his mission is coming to an end, he decides to go to the machine world and trinity goes with him. The rest of the city prepares for the attack of the machines.
The war begins, but the machines are just too much for the humans. Just then, one of the ships manages to enter Zion and sent an electromagnetic pulse to destroy both the machine attack and their computer systems.
The second wave of machine attack enters Zion. The humans are defenseless. They can only hope the prophecy about Neo is true.
Neo enters the machine world. The machine world is also in chaos, as the matrix has no say before the power of agent smith who has become almost invincible in the matrix. The machines agree to put an end to the war, if Neo is to kill Smith.
Neo enters in a hell of a battle with Smith, but realizes that he cant just beat him. Smith has become a program with only one purpose, of killing Neo. He is the opposite of Neo, without which the matrix will not be balanced. Neo decides to give up the fight. Smith wins the battle. He becomes a program without a purpose and gets terminated (please don’t mind the words terminated. I had only just finished a review on the terminator III).
The matrix is reloaded again and the war ended. With the promise of peace, which would last as long as it can.
