This morning my family had been to the MTR restaurant at Forum Value Mall for breakfast. We had good expectations as MTR is an old trusted name in Karnataka, similar to Sarvana in Chennai. My mother especially is very fond of South Indian food.
But our experience was far from satisfying and it ruined a lovely morning. The ambience is what strikes as most appealing as soon as you enter their premises. Alas, the positives end right there. There was no one to attend to us for a good 10 minutes.
When someone finally came, the expression on his face was gloomy and indifferent. They are not even trained to greet their customers. It doesn’t give one a feel-good factor at their restaurant. We were not even offered a kid’s high chair for our 3 year old son.
The food was served in reasonable time. The taste was not too great. The rava dosa I ordered was dripping in oil. Each table is assigned a waiter and only that waiter would attend to your calls; the other simply ignore you! That meant we had to wait for long periods of time to be served something as basic as water.
It is not a place we would like to visit again. The company had better sit up and take notice to preserve their legacy of 89 years.
