Max hospital in Saket is a nice hospital with modern building and state of the art equipment. They also have some excellent physicians on staff with unique skills set. I guess the good parts of the story end here.
It is overall a very poorly managed patient factory where goal is purely on output. My father was admitted there for 4 days for diagnosis of mass. The coordination of care among physicians is extremely poor and communication to the patient and family is even worse. Part of the reason is consultant doctors have overloaded schedules and patient load.
Despite me being a physician myself I had to pull all the strings like I would in a government hospital just to get the information from doctors. Lot of responsibility is left on junior doctors and residents who basically have no investment in the patient. They repeatedly lied to me about lab test statuses, made up notes in chart without touching the patient and even worse, lied about what communication they had with the consultant.
Eventually, I was able to get the answers and was able to get the tests and procedures done mostly because of my connections that kept pressure on the consultants. Without that and my medical background probably we would still be there after 10 days.
Hopefully, some day management at this hospital would realize that excellent medicine is not just about nice building and equipment. It is about people, respect and true caring for a patient. Until that day comes the claim of care comparable to what patients receive here in the US is nothing but hollow marketing gimmick.
My suggestion: Do not seek care here unless you have a full time patient advocate who can navigate through the maze of lies and misinformation and ensure proper care for you.
