This trashy film was picked up from Anajali at the Hindi-Bindi Groceries on Rockville Pike outside of Washington DC.
How dare ( ! to use someone elses expression ) does this film take the title of that mythological masterpeice from the days of yore and substitute a "tollywood" cast !
MAYA BAZAAR (the original B&W film) featuring NT Rama Rao and Savithri towers in artistic merit in comparison to this Tollywood Rotten Tomatoe featuring cameos by singer/actor SP Balasubramanian (for whos drummer I bought a case of Miller beer when he was in Los Angeles for a performance - fun guy though).
Can someone PLEASE post a review of the NT Rama Rao classic?
If I wished to watch a Telangana Marxist film (as this version starts off as) I could have rented B Narsing Raos MaBhoomi
Tollywood seems very adept with production values - the photography in this version is the only redeeming factor in wasting three hours in front off the boob tube ("pass the thyagalu and give some more arrak").
