Some of you who leave in the USA may not find much in my review because you have restaurants which follow similar standards and levels of McDonalds. But as an Indian I believe we have a lot to learn from these food chains -
McDonalds have introduced quality and standardisation to the India restaurant business. Walk into any McDonalds and you know what I mean. It does matter to which McDonalds I go they are all the same. One cannot say the same of Indian restaurant chains.
They have introduced respectability to the work force. The people working at McDonalds are looked up with respect and even the cleaners do their job with enthusiasm and dignity. India needs this more. The waiters in other restaurants dont get this kind of dignity. McDonalds has brought in to this land dignity of labour.
They have brought in hygiene and cleanliness to the food business. How many restaurants in India can afford to display their kitchens? In most restaurants if you see the kitchen you would probaly stop eating outside.
They play an important role in educating school students to the value of hygiene, quality and labour dignity.
And of course the food is excellent. I dont think I can taste any other burger after tasting McDonalds.
For those who are health conscious I think their best place is their kitchen. McDonalds and other restaurants are for the taste buds.
For those in US or other countries McDonalds may be just like another food chain. But India has valuable lessons to learn from their way of doing business.
