I have never cared for McDonalds, or Mickey Ds as I grew up saying. I have always had a Mickey Ds within minutes from me, and it used to be great when you were in a rush and needed breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The past 5 - 7 years, I have found that McDonalds has gone down hill. I have noticed that every single McDonalds that I have visited, they always put way too much salt on their fries. Even the french fries that comes with the Kids Happy Meals always had too much salt. Its bad enough that fast food is not healthy anyway, but they are just adding to the dangers by adding all that salt.
Thier menu is not that much of an assortment. They have the basic hamburgers & cheeseburgers, chicken mcnuggets, double cheeseburgers, a chicken sandwich, a few salads, french fries, and breakfast items. Their breakfast items include hotcakes, sausages, mcmuffins, and hash browns. I think the best thing they have going for them, is their mcmuffin sandwiches. Too bad the breakfast items are only available until 10:30 am.
I have found their burgers to be very thin pieces of meat. The bun is actually 3 times the size of the meat. Their chicken mcnuggets looks and tastes more like a breaded piece of fat. The kids love their happy meals that they offer, but that is only because they love the to get the toy that comes with it. I have found that on several occasions, they would run out of a toy and not offer anything to replace it. So then my kids would end up with a happy meal with no toy.
I try to stay away from McDonalds as much as possible. I have found that Burger King and Wendys are much better fast food chains. On those rare occasions, when my kids beg and plead for the Mickey Ds toy, only then will I venture out to McDonalds to get them their Happy Meal with the toy. And then I just hope that the toy will be available.
I do not recommend McDonalds to anyone. If you must eat there, then try to ask for french fries with no salt. Sometimes they will make a fresh hot serving of fries, just for you without the salt. THen again, I have only seen that happen a few times.
