Well, what can you say. I suppose McDonalds is the most well known fast food restaurant around. Is it well known because of it’s food though or just because they are everywhere you look?
Fast food – supposed to be served fast. If you order something standard that’s on the menu you don’t usually have to wait very long. But if you ask for no pickle, well, that’s five minutes added onto the waiting time.
Fast food is always going to be expensive but it’s convenient isn’t it? If you just want a quick bite to eat it’s ideal but if you are starving and want a proper meal, a McDonalds is not going to fill you up. Even with their new ‘super-size’ meals I am still hungry after finishing them. Perhaps it’s just me?
After just getting back from Florida I am not used to these small portions. In Florida the standard meal is the same size as our super-size. The large you wouldn’t believe and you get to refill you drink as many times as you like. Plus the service is much faster. Maybe we should take lessons from them.
The food itself is always very tasty I think. No complaints on the taste front. Still don’t like the pickle though – does anyone eat that? Their chicken burgers are particularly yum!!!
Tip; always ask for no ice in your drink and you will get twice as much.
Another tip; eat your fries first or they will be cold within 2 minutes.
So the service. Do they have one of those tests when you apply for the job then employ the person who got the most wrong to serve on the till? Why do they always put the most stupid person they can find at the front? Why don’t they have them frying burgers or something, but no!!! We’ll keep the more intelligent people for that. No offence to anyone who actually does this job. Then they employ a floor manager, to manage the floor. They sweep all day and tidy up. Note: floor manager = cleaner!
The drive through then. Very handy, don’t have to get out of your car or anything, except the forgot about people with minis. I used to have a mini and unless you park two millimetres from the window you won’t be able to reach up. You will have to get out of the car and stand at the window, which does defeat the whole idea of the drive through. Luckily now I have a better car and can reach! Drive through = use lots of petrol waiting to be served. Also when you drive through if you order your burger with none of that afore mentioned horrible pickle, you are asked to park on the hashed lines and they will bring it out to you. They then send some poor sod (see afore mentioned stupid cashier at the front) out in the pouring rain to bring you dinner to you, in a soaking wet bag. Nice. And they always wait until you’ve just turned your engine off!!!
Comparing McDonalds to other fast food restaurants then, personally I prefer Burger King. The portions are bigger, the chips are crispier. The service is much the same though. And they don’t put mustard in their burgers – yuk!!!
