This is about my Father-In Law who was taken to Medanta after a Brain Stroke. Before taking him there , I read reviews on Mouthshut as to how it sucked and still ignored it in the heat of the moment.So guys if you are reading this and still decide to go, take a minute , count 10 , sip some water and say no. This is a hell hole and not a hospital. Off the crooks , by the crooks and for the crooks.It is not meant for the common man. Almost every day went arguing with doctors as all Nurses appointed were Juniors.
Patient was more like a experimental sheep for them. when I requested for a detailed bill, they had performed countless tests and Scans and MRI and charged over 1.5 lakhs just for Radiology, but the catch was out of the 23 tests, 15 reports were missing and all the floor manager (She liked to be called as a doctor and not any thing else and addressing her was the most trivial issue) said to us was ’’we dont know where the reports are’’. Thankfully am marginally educated and could raise hell on this issue. Result was one full day lost and my Radiology bill reduced to 40000 ignoring the cost of the trauma I went through.
Doctors are super rude . When we complained about services being below standard, he threatened saying ’’ Inko ICU ya HDU mein shift karo, normal rooms mein patient nurse ratio 5:1 hai and HDU mein 1:1’’. Cost of HDU is 10000 per day only for room. Then we have Junior Doctors the team was full of young women blabbering around the floor with tatoos all over their body, Not that I have a problem with that, but for a moment I thought I was dealing with a drug addict Hippie who knew nothing about nothing.They didnt really look like doctors to me.
This is the best part, Doctors are not available on Sundays and we were told of this sunday morning when my in law was due for a critical review, all they said was ’’ aaj doctors chutti pe hai’. We spent 10 days there and each day was hell.
All Nurses from Kerala, dont understand a word of Hindi or English, only Malyalam. All doctors from Northern India, who dont know crap about Malyalam. This is a critical point coz whenever doctor suggested some test in Hindi, all the nurses did were nod their Head, and later when we asked about the test, they say ’’ Aisa to kuch nai bola ta’’ and we were like wtf.
This is a hospital full of dignified supari killers, just that they do the job without the gun.I am appalled at the state of affairs of the country, is their no committee to audit these guys, I mean seriously . Shame on these folks.
I can go on writing , but really short of time and dont wish to waste any further on this topic. But as a service to my country men, I thought it was my moral responsibility to bring to light the lethargic attitude of Medanta. It is humble plea guys, please do not enter this hospital ever.
The sad part is such places will continue to function coz we are 1 billion plus, so 50 odd negative reviews will not make any difference. But the good part is even if one guy reads this and decides against going there, I would consider myself to be lucky to have saved one life atleast.
