More business less hospitality

This hospital is giving importance to business more than hospitality. I’m telling this because of my experiences when I visited last 2 times.

Experience 1: We visited to consult an orthopedic doctor for my mom. My mom got hurt on her left foot during walking on a uneven footpath. The doctor suggested for X-ray and after seeing the X-ray he told that there was a fracture and the left foot need plaster to be done. But’fortunately’, next day we had to board a train for a 36 hrs journey. So the doctor told us to use crepe bandage during the journey but once we reach home we should plaster it immediately. After reaching home we consulted another orthopedic doctor for plaster. But after seeing the X-ray & examining mom’s foot he told there was no fracture and plaster is not required. He just gave medicine for 5 days and after that my  mom’s foot was all right. In this case the doctor in Medihope tried to sell the plaster which could cost around INR 2000 and it was not at all required.

Experience 2: Yesterday I visited Medihope again to consult an ENT specialist. I was having problem in throat due to cough. The problem was serious as I was suffering for last 3 weeks and already consulted one doctor whose medicine didn’t work for me. So, I was looking for an immediate solution for my throat problem. But the doctor discovered some problem in my nose, frightened  me by telling how serious that could be in the future and tried to convince me that my throat problem is related to my nose. Then he told me to go for MRI scan for my nose & complete hemogram test and then he will prescribe me medicine. I inquired about the cost of the tests which was around INR 3500. Here I am not telling that whatever problem he discovered and told about its seriousness was wrong but, that treatment could be done later. He could prescribe me some medicine for my cough then he could advise me to come back and not to ignore my nose problem. Not required to mention, I didn’t go for the test and will consult some other doctor.

*I am not going to visit this hospital again.*
