My mom fell down and she was brought to put stitches below the eye. Nurses show attitude and least bothered to answer any questions. The attenders and house keeping staff are more courteous than the doctors and nurses. They were insisting to take MRI when its not required. When questioned the need, they said its not required. Patient was handled badly. They hit the stretcher against wall, lift door, furniture and it was jolting. They didnt allow me to handle and said they would take care. Patient went to the operation theatre at 4.30pm. A nurse said that the surgeon would come only at 8.30pm and another nurse informed that he is on the way. No coordination and proper communication. Stitching was over and no information after one hour. When enquired, they said that the dressing was redone. Surgeon told that its minor injury and can be discharged. Duty doctor and nurses didnt see the patient after stitches. No information was provided when asked about giving water, medicines and food. Nurse said that she has to wait till the doctor says but there is no definite answer as to how long should the patient wait. She was asking for water for a long time. They provided chappathi for the patient and how do they expect her to chew it. There is no idli or any other food available. The patient in the next bed told me that he cant eat chappathi but they wont provide any alternative. He had to give it to his wife and eat food bought from outside. I met the duty doctor to find out whats going on. He asked whether the patient is in ICU. I asked him the need for ICU, he replied that he forgot the patient whom he attended. He then told us that its minor stitches; we can get the patient discharged and he left for the day. A Senior Nurse was pestering us to keep the patient in observation for a day. When the surgeon and duty doctor have agreed to discharge how can a nurse decide to keep the patient? For a simple stitches, the bill was around 18000/-. Even, a bigger hospital wouldnt have charged this much. 8000 fees for surgeon calling it as a a Plastic Surgery. Its mere stitches and do you guys know the meaning of Plastic Surgery? The HR Manager told that the nurse will be sacked immediately, which is not my issue or interest. He was confident about duty doctors visit and we proved him wrong. He didnt give justification for the charges nor provided the CEOs contact details. Duty doctor said he cant advise on continuing the medicines, which the patient was consuming for diabetes as it is an Against Medical Advice(AMA) case. We again had to call the HR to make him understand that the surgeon and another duty doctor have approved the discharge. Its attempt to lure money from the patients. Highly unethical and not fit to run a hospital.
