I am listening to MEENAXI for the umpteenth timeand the tracks are simply mindblowing.
Yeh rishta is a very catchy melody which will grab your attention this s followed by Dhuan Dhuan with the evergreen ashaji and if u want to undertand the meaning of PERCUSSION give it a hearing.The songs are simply amazinng.
But that makes you wonder wether the remaining songs are good rt?????
But the best part is yet to come. If u thought Sonu Nigam was good in Kal Ho Na HO here comes a song that will take a couple of hearings to sink in but once it does RAHMAN magic unfolds. The song is called Do kadam Aur sahi with soft rythm (no heavy beats) and a beautiful melody.
Then u have got the SUKHWINDARA Singh.Magazines touted this as the next Chaiyaa Chaiyya but on the first hearing I doubted it BUT NOW I THINK IT IS GOING TO BE A SUPER HIT. Beautiful song with the hyderabadi flavour.This song rocks and is being now aired on all music channels.
Now what do u wanna hear - A beautiful qawwali. I BET THAT THIS IS THE BEST RAHMAN HAS COMPOSED IN THE GENRE OF QAWWALIS. Noor un allah, Words dont come, just listen to it man.
Then we have Alka Yagnik coming Your way with one of the best songs(although not catchy instantly). RANG HAI had my ears seeking sounds from all directions with all those instruments being played. But the striking thing is the vocals by DALLINDA and the effortless singing by ALKA YAGNIK.
You have heard cycle bells I guess and here u will hear it once again. THIS TIME THE MAESTRO WANTS TO SHOW YOU HOW EVEN THAT SOUNDS LIKE MUSIC. The track is an instrumental called CYCLIST’S BALLET. Every time I listen to this I feel RAHMAN is BLESSED. HE is the best.
Now you have gotanother instrumental coming your way. This one called POTTERS VILLAGE is abundant in strings.YOU’ll like it immediately.
Now you might be wondering why I did not mention much about the first 2 songs YEH RISHTA and DHUAN DHUAN. The simple reason is that these two songs just dont need any kind of reviewing. They tell YOU Y RAHMAN IS THE BEST KNOWN AND MOST POPULAR MUSICAL TALENT IN INDIA.
So that is a wrap.
It is a very good album much better than LAGAAN in terms of innovations. You are guaranteed something new in every track -YOU BET!!!!!!
This is a must buy for all music fans.
