Meenmutty Heights

Meenmutty Heights is located in the Wayanad district of Kerala. We heard about this place from Hammock Holidays Bangalore. Thanks to Ramanand Shetty for suggesting this place for us.

  1. Reaching there: This resort is located at around 286 Km from Bangalore. You need to take the route Bangalore -> Mysore -> Gundlupet -> Sultan Bathery -> Vadavanchal -> Meenmutty Heights. The route map provided by Hammock holidays was perfect. We did not waste any time searching for the resort. It is 1Km away from the highway and hence no time is wasted in reaching the resort. We took sharp 6 hours to reach the resort.

  2. Locale: The resort was on a hillock top in the midst of a tea estate. I could take my car till the foot steps of our room. One side we could see the tea estate, the other side we could see the Meenmutty river. The river stream near the resort was quite shallow and was very good place to have a dip. This was a very good place to see a lot of varities of flowers. We could see Lotus flower of purple and yellow colour.( I had not seen it before.).

  3. Facilities at the resort: This was not a conventional resort with facilities like swimming pool or a banquet hall. This resort had very spacious and fantastic rooms, a place for indoor games and a restuarant, An amphi-theatre was present but no shows on the day we we went as we were the only guests:-). If we have our own car the resort management provides us a guide for local sight seeing. We took one of them to look around places in Wayanad.

  4. Food: Kerala food, the very word reminds us of coconut oil and sounds a little put off. We were taken by a surprise in this resort as we enjoyed Kerala food like anything. As we were the only guests in the resort, we got special attention for our needs. We were asked what we need and were provided what we wanted. Simple Kerala dishes like Idiappam with Vegetable Stew, Puttu with Channa masala really brought smiles on our face. I would prefer to give a good rating for food. Lack of fresh curd was a put off but got masked with a lot of good things they provided.

5.Guest Services: The support staff was very co-operative and took care of us very well.

  1. Value for Money: Slightly expensive.

  2. Recomended For: Couples, family and friends.
