Four years ago we squirmed in sympathy while Gaylord Focker (Ben Stiller) tried to convince Jack Byrnes(Robert De Niro) that he really was worthy of his daughter.
Now, with Gaylord safely in the Byrnes family circle trust and due to marry Pam, it is time for the Byrnes to meet the rest of the Fockers.
And they are quite a different bunch.Cue much embarrassment and distrust before true love finally saves the day.
The most surprising thing about this sequel is that it took them so long to do it -no-brainer springs to mind.
And that is probably the best way to enjoy this film too.It isn’t bad, or not funny, it’s just very predictable.
But while this is no threat to the second Godfather as the best ever sequel, it has it’s moments.
Barbara Streisand(motherfocker) and Robert De Niro(Pam’s dad) in particular are really good.Go Meet The Fockers!
