This one is for Penguin Lovers...
Some years back I went to Melbourne for Conference .. We got time off and checked the Grey Hound Travel and tour brochure and came to know about philip Island.
Philip Island has been a popular tourist destination for some time due to the famous Penguin Parade. This has been a ritual for thousand of years that the penguins start from their nests early in the morning for hunting etc and they come back around 7.00pm with belly full of fish to feed their children.
They swim upto the philip Island and they stand up and start walking.. This walking is called penguin parade and this is going on for thousand of years..
The Australian tourism dept has made elaborate arrangments to view this and all the people are made to sit in their respective places and are not allowed to move once penguin start coming in the evening..
Philip Island is appr 50-70 km from melbourne City and many tour operator go there..
