Well this is the most colourful man magazine I ever read. indeed it is the most complete healtyh magazine focussed over men.
i have purchased all its editions from the 1st one in sept 2005(i think!)
to the june edition.
i am not a subscriber vbut I buy it from the news stand every month
firstly I would like to mention the good things about this magazine.
1- the magazine is the indian edition of the international men’s health, so as a result its really a big magazine. and in india is related to the group publishing the "COSMOPOLITAN" magazine for women.
2- lots of celebs are associated with it. they have till today interviewed karan johar, shahrukh khan, aditya bidla, shahid kapoor, vivek oberoi, sanjay dutt, phew.! list goes on.
3- the doctors and experts are actually giving good advice and u can rely on them
4- the exercises are given with excellent details which even a beginner like me can follow. with full explanations and excellent pictures detailing the movement.
5- interesting articles, though some of them dont make sense in india still entertaining.
6- good or bad a;ll types of letters are included.
7- they dont brag about celebs, they actually dont hesitate in critisizing them(like the article of vivek oberoi against smoking was titles- NO MORE ASH!)
8- sex gets extensive coverage, in fact detailed articles which involved about common misconceptions and problems men face but are hesitant 2 discuss them.
9- pics and print quality is superb, so is the price 50 rupees, though the binding is actually not as good as it was in the 2005 issues. the may issue with me is now inside a file folder cuz every page came out.
10- common styling issues like what belt with what shoes and all are all nicely addressed.
now a few rough edges.
1- having connected to the "cosmopolitan" magazine, the image of a woman is of an overexpecting, unexplainable, and unconqurable, alien territory. girls are not that bad. also it assumes that all girls around us are available for sex, just follow the instruction given by the wise gals and u are laid. true for america, still a rarity in india
2- lots of faults and typing mistakes which are now thankfully being reduced, but still there were a few alarming issues. like the photograph or shweta bachan being appointed as the "save the dolphins ambassador" wearing a fir coat. and that of sanjay dutt’s under the drug addiction.
3- the pages needs to be stapled, slight moisture and it all comes off.
4- the number of pages is being reduced, less on content? may be, yes the earlier issues were bulbous. they may-june issues are slimmer.
5- almost a year and not a single article over gay issues, come on even bollywood is turning pink these days
