To me there is no other car but a Mercedes Benz! As a child I could name every car on the road as a 2 year old my parents tell me. One of my earliest memories is of a lady from church coming to see my mother at home. She pulled up in the most elegant white 1969 Mercedes saloon. It was to me car perfection... and still is! This was the day my love affair with the badge began. I would now like to tell you about a beautiful little girl who came into my life last year. An SLK 230 Kompressor, red, immaculate and a head turner in everyway. This is truly one of the most stunning looking 2 door convertibles of recent times. More than that it feels so very safe to be in and to drive. It is solid and heavy feeling, yet amazingly quick to take off from standing, quicker by several seconds than her big brother the 500SL. Everything you expect in a luxury car and more, like the ABS breaking system, Airbags and fuel injection, somewhat old hat now, yet it was Mercedes Benz who pioneered these features and later sold the technology to other car makers. What sets these cars apart from others is the quality, from the paint work, to the interior finish or the air conditioning which does not draw out power from the engine at all like less expensive cars. And the power window motors are strong, they do not hesitate or labour up/down. This was something I noticed straight away. As you can tell I am no motor magazine reviewer, but I know quality, good looks and a performer when I see it. This little baby is to me perfection and like many little baby benz compacts before her will one day be a long lasting much sort after and expensive classic. But for now you are mine and I am yours and happy we live in each others hearts.
