A sweet long maruti ad - with family at the center

Have seen covert ads in many films – usually showing a coke being asked for or in the background as a poster and at one extreme jingles of various ads in a song. But this time it has been taken to a new level with **Maruti** brand & especially **Ertigo** being promoted throughout the film. That having been said, this is one of the few films where there was no single extraordinary feature but yet the film overall leaves a feel good experience.

The plot is simple – a middle class Punjabi family whose daughter is getting married; a Maruti Ertigo to be gifted to the groom. The twist is in the bride’s brother taking it out to impress a hottie & then the car getting lost. The film then goes through the, at times convoluted, track of how he manages to hide this fact from his family with the help of his friend. Towards the end he ends up in trouble and has to tell his sister(the bride) who sends her would-be to bail him. But the best laughs for the end when the dad gets 3 cars at his door step – the original car, a car won by the friend as a lottery for test drive & a car gifted to the girl friend by a family as a gratitude for saving their son’s life.

It is a small budget film with the biggest star in the film being Ram Kapoor(other than Maruti ofcourse). Cast has given decent performance. The scene where the groom has to act surprised at receiving the Maruti as gift is hilarious. There are subtle messages on family bonding put into the film at some places. Overall this is a sweet film you can see with family but don’t expect any usual action romance stuff in it. It’s just a **simple middle class story just like the values Maruti likes to stand for.*
