Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai Dear Friends Comment allez-vous. When I was watching the movie MYKSH at Sangam in Delhi, I thought then and there that I’ll write a review on this. Its such a good movie...Everywhere its the war b/w two Bhagat Singh movies, this little one which is not very hyped, stole my heart rightway. This one is for all those romantic kinda people, who loves Yash Chopra movies. Yes this one is produced by Yash Chopra but directed by someone else, I think its some Sanjay.
This movie is a must see film for the whole family.. Ok, lets start from beginning, the movie is inspired from Julia Roberts ’’My Best Friends Wedding’’ but with an unique Indian touch to it. Julia excelled in that movie, similarly here Uday Chopra (Sanjay aka Sanju) leaves his mark as a sweet boy with good acting skills. Cameron Diaz, similarlity with Jimmy Shergill(Rohit), who I think has improved a lot after Mohabbatein, looks professional with nice looks. Huge Grant who supported Julia in every field, similarity with Bipasha Basu (Ria), nice to see her after ’’Raaz’’ but I think she would’ve never accepted this small role after Raaz. And the main lead in the movie is that of Julia’s best friend ( I forgot his name) similarity with sweet Sanjana. Sanjana (Anjali or Anju), her real name is Tulip, looks beautiful, charming, sweet, cute and lovable, a model by profession has done smirnoff and other ads, performs beautifully in the movie. She also has an amazing figure. She is simply adorable, anyways nothing can be done about it. I’m getting scenti on her. Lets come back to the movie.
Sanju(Uday) & Anju(Sanjana) are best friends from their childhood, Sanju lives in Mumbai with Ria(Bipasha), who is a good friend of his. Sanju gets a call from Dehradoon where Anju, lives with her family that she is getting married, Sanju doesn’t like the idea. He in his heart has loved Anju since childhood but has never dared to tell her fearing of disapproval but since he deeply loves her, he decides to leave for Dehradoon to stop her from getting married to someone else. He arrives in Mumbai, meets her huge line up of family members, similar to that in ’’HAHK’’, ’’DDLJ’’ and ’’HSSH’’, meets her lady love Sanjana. After a day, Rohit (Jimmy Shergill), arrives from US, he is a doctor there. A man of good Indian cultural values, wins everyone’s hearts. After seeing Rohit and his pleasing personality, Sanju decides to leave her, then at that moment Ria (Bipasha), gives him courage to stay there and woo her till the last minute. Sanju agrees to that. After that, Sanju tries to create some sweet misunderstanding b/w Anju and Rohit but they were very light and non effective. Then Sanju arranges a Bachelor’s party where there is an explosive number by Shamita Shetty (Mohabattein), Sharara Sharara, Mein hoon Ek Sharara..... where Sanju manages to spoil Rohit in that atmophere of beauties and champagne. Anju and her family sees all this and they get angry, then Rohit understands that its a playwork of Sanjay to snatch Anju from him. He tells all this to Sanjay and then they both openly challenge each other for their marriage with Anju (as in Mohabbatein). Then there is a big intermission...
After interval, the main thing is the arrival of Ria(Bipasha) in their house at Dehradun, she shows to all family members that she is the beloved of Sanjay, Sanjay was surprised at her behavior but she explains him that by doing this play, will create a jealousy in Anju’s heart and that is what happens... As the days for marriage came nearby, Sanjay felt that he can do nothing, there is a college song in which sanjay dances with Ria to jealous Anju but nothing much happens. Ria tells Sanjay to tell Anju that he loves her since their childhood but Sanjay tells Ria that its not possible, in that frustration, Ria decides to leave for Mumbai. Meanwhile before going Ria tells Anju that Sanjay and she are only friends and nothing more than that.... After that Sanjay admits his defeat to Rohit and decides to leave before her marriage as no real lover can see the marriage of his beloved. Anyways he goes back. Then................ This is the main and major twist, If i’ll tell you’ll curse me for the suspense.
Go and watch this movie. You can watch Baghat Singh movie after few weeks but watch this now... Plus Points : Very good direction with right suspense, beautufully picturised songs, the new girl ’’Sanjana’’, simply the best, Uday Chopra and Jimmy Shergill, Bipasha basu Bad Points : None Please watch this movie for Sanjana and Uday’s career.....
