My parents bought this car brand new back in june, 1998. It had to be special ordered because of its unique color and it was 3 months before I could take ownership of it. I was so excited to be riding in it, my palms were sweating.
It is midnight blue with a blue interior. It has a six disk trunk mounted cd changer, heated seats, front and side dual airbags, wood paneling throughout and leather seats. The front seats have memory seating, which allows you to program your seat, steering wheel, and side view mirrors into memory. It has a V-6, 3.2 liter engine. Front leg room is excellent, and rear leg room is pretty good for a midsize car. The ride is very smooth and quiet.
However one finds the rear to be slightly more noisy than the front. Wind noise isnt heard until you reach 85 mph (about 140 kilo meters per hour) and even then it is minimal. As far as the handling goes, its pretty good, this is a car for basic transportation, not racing (try a CLK if your looking for something sportier.) We bought this car for everyday driving and long distance driving on the weekends. Intially my dad drove it to work, but now my mother drives it most of the time.
I think that it is a great car and a very safe investment for anyone who is looking to buy a midsize, midpriced luxury car.
P.S. I couldnt find a way to write a review on Mercedes E 320, so I put it under E 240. Its almost the same other then the size of the engine. Thank you.
