Dont Rely on them

I regularly use meru cabs for travel to airport in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi. Till date the service was good and I had good opinion on meru cabs till date. But I had strange experience recently with the booking made with meru. I have booked Meru Cab on 27th Nov Booking Ref 2005393 at 12.52 afternoon. Booking has been confirmed for pick at 5.15 PM to Secunderabad Railway station.


I have received booking confirmation within seconds after booking. Generally meru cabs sends driver name and cab number 30 min prior ti pickup via SMS (text message on mobile number). I haven’t received any communication till 5 PM. I got doubt on the service and tried to call the Meru cabs number to know the status, I had to wait for more than 10 min on hold as no executive was picking the call. Finally I got connected to Meru Cabs number at 5.15 PM which is my pick up time. When I informed that cab has not come, theexecutive said sorry there is some problem and not able to trace any driver in our area Kukatpally which is most prominent residential area in Hyderabad. They said they cannot provide cab. I was embaressed to hear this from Meru. (infact I was suggested to tae an Auto by Meru cabsexecutive as they cant send cab as per booking confirmation) I have questioned that there is no communication to me on the status or non availability of the cab. Atleast if they inform in advance I would have made alternative arangement. Especially in our area it is difficult to make alternative arrangemet within short time. I had to take my two wheeler, rush to ato stand which is one K.m away. It took 25 min for me to get an auto to my place. We were running short of time to catch the train. My parents who are senior citizens were also travelling with me. We all were tensed and got frustrated with the experience. Assume if only senior citizens have booked the cab what would be the situation? Meru cabs should take responsibility to send the cabs as per booking confirmaton without deviation. Or atleast they should intimate in advance if they fail to provide cab as per booking so hat customer can make alternative arrangement in advance to avoid tensions. If this was only one instance I would have thought exceptional case, but my relative experienced similar case, when they booked cab from Kukatpally to Kachiguda Railway station recently. Hope the meru management improve the service and provide best service as they used to be.
